For more information about us, please visit: Department of computer and systems science Computer and Systems Sciences with focus on Decision analysis Computational decision analysis is an interdisciplinary field that combines mathematical methods, algorithms, and computer science to support decision-making in complex situations. It involves using computational tools to analyze alternatives, assess risks, and optimize decisions based on available data and models. Main responsibilities Main duties are teaching, course development, course responsibility, supervision, and research. The teaching is within the unit of systems analysis and security. Research-led teaching related to risk and decision analysis that connects course content to ongoing scientific investigation is desirable. The applicant will be part of the Risk and Decision Analysis subject area and is expected to contribute to the subject area’s research and teaching. Contributions to both theoretical foundations and practical relevance are expected in research. This includes one or more of the following methodological domains: operations research, game theory, stochastic optimization, multi-criteria decision analysis, machine learning, and participatory decision analysis. Application areas include e.g. defense, energy, finance, telecommunications, and transportation. The applicant is expected to: Actively participate in educational activities on all levels. Supervise PhD and Master students. Apply for external research founding. Participate in national and international collaborations on a high academic level. Qualification requirements Eligible applicants for the position of Senior Lecturer should hold a PhD in Computer and Data Sciences or have equivalent research skills and have demonstrated teaching expertise. The applicant must have the ability to cooperate with colleagues as well as other abilities that are required in order successfully to meet the demands of the position. To be able to perform the duties of the position, the applicant must have a documented ability to use English in speech and writing at a professional level. This may be demonstrated, for example, through documented experience of teaching in English or a certificate of language proficiency corresponding to at least level B2 (CEFR). Assessment criteria Special and equal emphasis will be placed on teaching and research skills. Research skills are demonstrated through the applicant’s research within the subject area of the announcement. Teaching proficiency should normally be demonstrated through thesis supervision and teaching experience at the undergraduate and master’s levels. Teaching expertise should be well-documented in a manner that makes it possible to assess the quality of the teaching activities. Strong emphasis will be placed on a documented ability to cooperate well with colleagues and fellow researchers. Emphasis will be placed on having successfully planned, applied for and obtained research project funds from external research funding bodies. Emphasis will be placed on having a well-documented international academic profile, demonstrated through active international research collaborations and experience in international academic environments (e.g., joint projects, visiting positions, or participation in international networks and conferences). Emphasis will be placed on administrative skills and proven collaboration with the surrounding society, and dissemination of research and development findings. It is a merit to have completed at least 15 higher education credits in teaching and learning in higher education or have otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge. About the employment The employment is shared between research and teaching according to the current collective agreement.
