Background of the recruitment and description of the project The Faculty of Information Science and Electrical Engineering, Kyushu University, invites applications for one full-time Special Project Faculty position (Associate Professor). The successful candidate will be affiliated with the Department of Interdisciplinary Informatics, Faculty of Information Science and Electrical Engineering, and will teach courses in the Information-related Minor Program. At the same time, the successful candidate will conduct research in the Department of Linguistic Environment, Subdivision of Linguistic Information, Faculty of Languages and Cultures, and teach English and related courses. Work content and job description (1) Conducting research in the Department of Linguistic Environment, Subdivision of Linguistic Information, Faculty of Languages and Cultures. (2) Teaching approximately one intensive course per academic year in the Information-related Minor Program. (3) Teaching approximately four English and related classes per week. (4) Curriculum and teaching materials development (including DX-related work) and duties related to entrance examinations in the Faculty of Languages and Cultures. Work experience Previous experience teaching English at the university level, including part-time teaching experience. Description (1) A doctoral degree in a relevant field, or research achievements considered equivalent to a doctoral degree. (2) Previous experience teaching English at the university level, including part-time teaching experience. (3) Japanese language proficiency sufficient to undertake lectures, educational activities, and administrative duties, and English language proficiency sufficient to teach English courses in English. (4) Knowledge and skills necessary for the development of DX-related teaching materials are desirable. Supplementary explanation of compensation (1) Employment conditions are governed by the relevant Kyushu University regulations. (2) Salary: The annual salary will be determined in accordance with Kyushu University regulations, taking into account the successful candidate's educational background, experience, and employment history. (3) Working hours: Based on the consent, under the discretionary labor system for professional work, the employee will be deemed to have worked 7 hours and 45 minutes per day. (4) Days off: In principle, Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and the year-end and New Year holidays (December 29-January 3). (5) Social insurance: Employment insurance, workers' compensation insurance, health insurance, and employees' pension insurance. (6) Measures to prevent passive smoking: Smoking is prohibited throughout the campus. (7) Salary increase: None.
