Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology

East Texas A&M University Commerce, United States

About the position

Are you a clinician-scholar who wants to shape a doctoral program from the ground up? East Texas A&M University is developing a new PsyD in Clinical/School Psychology, and we invite applications for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology to help lead the way. The position begins Fall 2027.

As a student-ready Doctoral University classified as R2: High Research Activity by the Carnegie Classification, East Texas A&M offers the resources of a research institution alongside a genuine commitment to student success. The Department of Psychology and Special Education is growing, and this is a rare opportunity to join at a pivotal moment, when your ideas can influence curriculum, training philosophy, and program culture for years to come.

The successful candidate will teach and conduct research in our established Master of Science in Clinical Psychology program, preparing students to deliver evidence-based assessment and intervention. You will also play a central role in developing and delivering the forthcoming PsyD, with opportunities to teach other graduate courses across the department. Alongside teaching, you will build an impactful research program and contribute meaningful service to the department, university, and profession.

To help you launch your research program, we offer private lab space, a dedicated graduate research assistant, and a reduced teaching load during your first year, giving you the time and support to establish your lab and get your scholarship off to a strong start.

We are seeking a dedicated scholar and educator who is excited about graduate training, committed to evidence-based practice, and motivated by the opportunity to build something new.
