Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Communication

The Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Communication is a full-time position responsible for teaching undergraduate and master’s-level courses in communication, both onsite and online. We seek a colleague who can expand our offerings in new and emerging media, with teaching expertise that fits within at least one of our three areas of curricular focus: strategic communication, organizational communication and/or media studies. Experience with online or hybrid-flexible teaching is preferred. Teaching assignments will also include departmental general education courses. MSU Billings is a teaching-oriented institution that values and promotes excellence in teaching. The teaching load is 4/3, or 21 credits per year. The position requires student advising, campus committee participation, and an active research agenda.

Required Qualifications:

1) Ph.D. in Communication.

2) All but Dissertation (ABD) will be considered, but dissertation defense must be scheduled before commencing employment at MSUB.

3) Teaching experience as instructor of record.

Preferred Qualifications:

1) Experience teaching in an access institution.

2) Experience with online, hybrid, or Hy flex teaching.

3) Experience teaching public speaking, interpersonal communication, intercultural communication, or small group communication general education courses.

4) Have an established research agenda.
