All faculty will have joint appointments with School of Physics and Astronomy and other relevant schools at SJTU. The research directions include active matter, colloids, granular matter, fluid dynamics, genetic regulation; organism development, biological polymer dynamics, statistical physics of learning, sensory adaptation, evolution dynamics, quantum computing and plasma physics.
The recruitment program of faculty positions at INS, Shanghai Jiao Tong University will be continued for the next few years. Salary and start-up packages including housing subsistence are competitive with the peer institutions in China, and at the international level in special cases. Candidates will be considered at all ranks, and in all major fields of natural and engineering sciences.

There are currently a few open positions at all levels (from postdoctoral fellow to full professor) in Quantum Information and Computation. In particular, recruitment is considered in areas including (though not limited to) quantum error correction, quantum simulation, quantum chemistry, machine learning for quantum systems. Many other areas are also welcome and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
