At the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Bonn, a
W3 Professorship for Prosthodontics
is to be filled on a permanent basis at the earliest opportunity.
We are looking for an accomplished personality who can represent the full scope of prosthodontics across research, teaching, and patient care. The professorship involves the management of the department of the same name. The Department for Prosthodontics is integrated into the Center for Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine at University Hospital Bonn (UKB).
The candidate should have outstanding clinical expertise in reconstructive dentistry, fixed and removable prosthetics, implant-supported restorations, digital treatment concepts, and gerodontology. The ability to further develop innovative, patient-oriented care concepts in close interdisciplinary collaboration within the Center for Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine is expected.
Very good academic achievements, experience in acquiring extramural third-party funding, teaching experience, and substantial teaching skills are required. The candidate’s academic profile should align with the main research areas of the Center and the Faculty, and ideally with collaborative existing networks of the Faculty of Medicine and the University as a whole.
The professorship will be responsible for teaching in the field of prosthodontics within the dentistry curriculum. In addition, active participation in the current and future degree programs of the Faculty of Medicine is expected.
The successful candidate must have completed a university degree in dentistry, a doctorate, have a habilitation or equivalent qualification, and evidence of outstanding academic achievements. Experience in teaching in accordance with Section 36 of the Higher Education Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (Hochschulgesetz NRW) is preferable.
