Job description:Comprehensive sorption experiments will be conducted with selected radionuclides on natural rock samples. The work will include:

  • Planning of the sorption experiments and defining experimental parameters and boundary conditions
  • Conducting sorption experiments in glove boxes, including dilute as well in saline solutions
  • Quantification of the sorption experiments and analysis of the retention mechanisms using complementary spectroscopic and analytical methods
  • Geochemical modeling to assess radionuclide speciation and solubility
  • Determination of sorption coefficients (Kd values) from the primary experimental data
  • Systematic assessment of newly determined sorption parameters
  • Reporting and documentation of results
  • Dissemination of results at national and international conferences and publication in scientific journals
