About the position
Description of the research group
The Clinical Memory Research group at the Department of Clinical Sciences Malmö conducts leading research on biomarkers for Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases, such as Lewy body dementia and Parkinson's disease. The research, internationally recognised through the BioFINDER studies, has for several years been at the forefront of fluid biomarkers and brain imaging, enabling early and accurate detection, diagnosis and prognosis of disease.
The group is led by Senior Lecturer Sebastian Palmqvist and Senior Lecturer Niklas Mattsson-Carlgren and consists of research staff and technical/administrative staff. The workplace is located at the Biomedical Centre (BMC) in Lund.
We work closely with the Memory Clinic at Skåne University Hospital in Malmö, where several of our researchers also work clinically. Read more about our research

planning and carrying out statistical analyses for scientific publications together with the group's researchers, for example regarding diagnostic accuracy (ROC analysis, cutoffs, calibration, prediction models) and longitudinal data (mixed models, time-to-event, etc.)
compiling and quality-controlling analysis datasets from the group's databases across projects
producing clear, publication-quality figures and tables from the data
writing reproducible, well-documented analysis code in R
contributing to the U01 project's statistical analysis plan and pre-specified analyses, together with the Principal Investigator and statisticians at the US partner sites
drafting methods and results sections and reviewing the statistical parts of manuscripts
providing statistical advice on study design, power calculations and choice of methods
following methodological developments in the field and introducing new tools and ways of working in the group.

excellent command of R, including data handling and programming of reproducible analyses.
a strong ability to visualise data and produce clear, publication-quality figures.
good knowledge of statistical modelling, in particular regression models, methods for diagnostic accuracy and analysis of longitudinal data.
excellent command of English, spoken and written (English is the group's working language).
great importance will be attached to personal qualities. We are looking for someone who is meticulous and structured, able to explain statistical methods and results to clinicians and researchers, service-minded and able to handle several parallel projects and deadlines.
Additional merits for the position:
previous experience of statistical analysis of clinical or medical data, in particular in biomarker, cohort or dementia research. This is a strong merit.
knowledge of our research field: Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD).
co-authorship of scientific publications and experience of writing methods and results sections or other supporting text in manuscripts.
experience of writing statistical analysis plans and carrying out pre-specified analyses, for example in clinical trials or diagnostic validation studies.
experience of using LLM-based AI tools in statistical work (coding, documentation, drafting) and/or experience of machine learning on clinical data.
experience of data management in databases (e.g. REDCap, SQL) and harmonisation of variables across cohorts.
knowledge of Python or other programming languages.
