Hiring Unit: Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE) Course Code and Title: EDEC 249-003/004. Global Education & Social Justice. Description: A cross-curricular, interdisciplinary approach to teaching/creating learning experiences for students. It will foster critical thinking and nurture lifelong global understanding, active engagement and participation in relation to questions of social, economic, and environmental justice, by infusing these issues in the classroom. This course is not Team Taught or offered online. Term: Winter 2027 Course Credits: 3 Location: Education Building (EDUC 216) Schedule: Tuesday & Thursday, 02:35 pm-03:55 pm Appointment Dates: December 20, 2026 - April 30, 2027 Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs): Education: - Master educator with an MA in a relevant field (i.e., curriculum studies, educational foundations - philosophy, sociology, and history of education, critical pedagogy, comparative education) and relevant professional experience as a school educator, pedagogue, community educator, and/or NGO organizer or educator. - PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is an asset. Experience: 1. Demonstrated knowledge of: - Global education issues - Social justice issues in education - Foundational issues in education - Contemporary issues in education - Comparative education 2. Previous experience teaching similar course(s) at the undergraduate or graduate level and/or equivalent relevant teaching or professional experience. 3. Experience as a school administrator, institutional leader, community leader, NGO organizer or educator, and/or teacher/instructor or other education professional in the Quebec educational system is an asset. Other: 1.Knowledge of the impact and proven record integrating pedagogical approaches anchored to equity, diversity and inclusion 2.Familiarity using myCourses, ZOOM and other similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiences 3.Familiarity teaching blended classes is an asset 4.Familiarity with the application of a variety of digital teaching and learning tools Posting Period: October 1-15, 2026 Deadline to apply: October 15 (11:59 PM) Before applying, please note that to work at McGill University, you must be both authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located.
