Hiring Unit: Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE) Course code and title: EDEE 223-002. Language Arts. Description: Different approaches to language arts education in the contexts of kindergarten and elementary classrooms will be investigated. Explores current research and theories related to language and literacy development, learning and teaching. Opportunities for cultivating techniques for aligning language arts pedagogy, curriculum, instruction and assessment will be provided. This course is not Team taught or offered online. Term: Winter 2027 Course Credits: 3 Location: Education Building (EDUC 211) Schedule: Friday, 11:35 am-02:25 pm Appointment dates: December 21, 2026 - April 30, 2026 Teaching Qualification Requirements: Education: 1.MA in a relevant field (i.e. English Language Arts in elementary school education) and/or extensive relevant experience as an English Language Arts school educator/pedagogue 2.A teaching degree or equivalent 3.PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is an asset ​Experience: 1.Experience as a master teacher/instructor in k/elementary Language Arts: - QEP English Language Arts program & competencies for K/ elementary grades (i.e. LES -designing, planning, assessment for ELA throughout K/Elementary grades) - Critical multi- literacy approaches for Language Arts in K/elementary grades Other: - Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) at the undergraduate or graduate level - Knowledge of the impact and proven record integrating pedagogical approaches anchored to equity, diversity and inclusion - Familiarity using myCourses, ZOOM and other similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiences - Familiarity teaching blended classes is an asset - Familiarity with the application of a variety of digital teaching and learning tools Posting Period: October 1-15, 2026 Deadline to apply: October 15 (11:59 PM) Before applying, please note that to work at McGill University, you must be both authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located.
