About the position
Doctoral Candidate position at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands
Objectives:
- Design and simulate metasurfaces exhibiting synthetic crystal rotation through ultrafast spatiotemporal modulation
- Fabricate dynamically modulated metasurface structures with anisotropic, ENZ-like optical behaviour
- Investigate nonreciprocal light–matter interactions arising from synthetic spacetime rotation
Over the course of the thesis, the candidate will develop skills in theoretical modelling and simulation of anisotropic metasurfaces, nanofabrication of dynamically modulated photonic structures, and ultrafast optical characterization, gained through secondments at UPNA (theoretical modelling) and UFI (ultrafast optical testing).
Starting date: February 2027
