Background of the recruitment and description of the project The Institute of Economic Research, Kyoto University, is searching for a tenure track assistant/associate professor (1 person). The tenure-track assistant/associate professor position is for a six-year term and is promotable to a tenured position subject to mid-term evaluations conducted before the completion of the third year and final evaluations conducted before completion of the fifth year. With positive evaluations, a promotion may be made at the beginning of the sixth year, and occasionally, a tenure track faculty member with an outstanding research record may be promoted before the fifth year. An applicant will be required to sign a letter of consent promising to comply with the Kyoto University Code on Terms of Employment for Faculty Members before any final offer is made.
