Position Summary: Bowdoin College's Department of Computer
Science invites applications for a full-time, benefits-eligible
lecturer-track position as Lecturer in Computer Science beginning
July 1, 2027. The initial appointment will be for four years, with
the potential for recurring multi-year reappointments and eventual

expected to include a regular suite of core introductory-level

doctorate) in Computer Science or a related field is expected by
the date of appointment.

Bowdoin is particularly interested in candidates dedicated to
undergraduate teaching. The College offers opportunities for
professional development, including a path to promotion to senior
lecturer and eligibility for fully funded, one-semester senior
lecturer sabbatical leaves, as well as support for teaching,
grant-writing, artificial intelligence initiatives, computing
software, and community partnerships in courses. The College also
offers robust programming and resources for establishing and
enhancing mentoring networks.

collective practice that honors our institutional commitment to
provide an outstanding liberal arts education and serve the common
