Background of the recruitment and description of the project The X (Cross)-Manufacturing Research and Education Center was established on April 1, 2026, with the aim of fostering highly skilled professionals capable of advancing comprehensive digitalization research and its social implementation in the fields of manufacturing machines and production processes. The Center promotes interdisciplinary collaboration among engineering, informatics, economics and business administration, mathematical sciences, and other related disciplines, as well as industry-academia collaboration with manufacturing industries represented by the machine tool sector. Work content and job description Through this recruitment, the Center seeks an individual who will play a central role in its activities and management by vigorously promoting research, education, and industry-academia collaboration within the Division of Manufacturing Processes and Machine Tools. Specifically, applicants are expected to have expertise in precision engineering based on mechanical engineering, particularly in areas related to manufacturing processes and machine tools, such as machining, machine tools, precision metrology, numerical control, process planning, and operations planning. The successful candidate will be expected to actively promote collaborative research with regional manufacturing industries, particularly those represented by the machine tool industry, and to contribute enthusiastically to the education and training of human resources through research and interdisciplinary collaboration. Common to all Job Types Annual Salary : 7 million yen ~ 12 million yen Work experience Applicants should have a distinguished research record in mechanical engineering and be able to contribute to education and research supervision, particularly for doctoral students, in the Department of Micro-Nano Mechanical Science and Engineering, the Department of Mechanical Systems Engineering, and the Department of Aerospace Engineering of the Graduate School of Engineering, as well as in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of the School of Engineering.
