About the position
Our laboratory is conducting research in quantum optics and quantum information based on integrated photonic circuits as part of the JST ERATO "Takeuchi Hyper-Entanglement Project." This project brings together researchers from diverse fields, including mathematical sciences, machine learning, and quantum optics, with the aim of developing novel quantum sensing and quantum information technologies. We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher who will take a leading role in advancing the experimental aspects of this research program.
Work content and job description
You will engage in experimental research in quantum optics, quantum information, and quantum metrology using integrated photonic circuits. The main responsibilities include:
- Designing, constructing, and conducting quantum optics experiments using integrated photonic circuits such as silicon photonic devices, single-photon and photon-pair sources, and single-photon detectors.
- Developing control systems for experimental setups and performing data analysis.
- Writing and publishing research papers based on research outcomes.
- Proposing and demonstrating new research topics in collaboration with theoretical and experimental researchers within the project, as well as with graduate and undergraduate students in the laboratory.
Specific research topics will be determined based on the successful candidate’s expertise, background, and research experience.
Work experience
Applicants must have research experience in quantum optics, quantum information, quantum metrology, optics and photonics, mathematical sciences, or closely related fields.
Description
(1) A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) at the time of appointment, or expected to obtain one by the date of appointment.
(2) A strong motivation to engage in experimental research in quantum optics, photonics, or related fields (the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for experimental research in this position).
(3) The ability and willingness to take a leading role in advancing the research project and to actively engage in collaborative research with researchers from diverse academic backgrounds.
