About the position

Background of the recruitment and description of the project The Major in Mechanical Engineering provides students with courses including laboratory courses and graduation research in mechanical engineering as well as architecture and management system engineering. Students can graduate only by taking courses given in English. Work content and job description Education and research of mechanical engineering in the field of thermal and fluid engineering. Approximately six courses per semester will be assigned from the list below. [Major in Mechanical Engineering (Required and elective) ] ・Engineering Thermodynamics ・Fluid Dynamics ・Mechanical Engineering Frontiers ・Introduction to Mechanical Engineering ・Environmental Science (Co-taught with other lecturers) ・Mechanical Engineering Laboratory (Co-taught with other lecturers) ・Statics, Kinematics and Dynamics of Mechanisms (Co-taught with other lecturers) ・Modeling and Analysis of Dynamic Systems (Co-taught with other lecturers) ・Physics Laboratory for Mechanical Engineering (Co-taught with other lecturers) ・Material Mechanics (Co-taught with other lecturers) The appointee will also be responsible for other duties as determined by the university. ・Participate in faculty committee, other committees, entrance exams and other university related works. ・Participate in social activities and other activities related to contribution to society. Common to all Job Types Annual Salary : 5 million yen ~ Description It is expected that the successful candidate will satisfy the following qualifications. ① A person who holds a doctoral degree, or who is recognized as having equivalent qualifications and abilities. ② A person who understands and is sympathetic to private university education and is capable of delivering lectures in English. ③ A person who can engage in interdisciplinary research and activities spanning multiple areas of mechanical engineering. ④ A person who can actively work in cooperation with other faculty and staff in the administration of the major. ⑤ Business-level proficiency in Japanese is necessary. Work Location: Nishiwaseda Campus, Waseda University Description Professor (non-tenure-track) or Associate Professor(non-tenure-track) ※Waseda University will decide an employment position based on your educational / research experience, and will inform you before the final interview. Job content supplemental explanation Contract period: 3 years ・At the end of their term, Waseda University may reappoint to the extent that it does not last more than two years. However, the total number of continuing employment periods under the relevant qualifications of our university can not exceed five years. ・Whether or not reappointment will be judged comprehensively by taking into consideration the educational performance, research achievement and work situation etc. ・It is not possible to continue being employed after reaching 70 years of age. ・If there had been employment contract with the university at any time since April 1, 2013, and if there is no period for which employment contracts have not been concluded for more than half a year until this adoption date in principle, there is an upper limit on the duration of the continuing employment contract period. Therefore, the period of employment and the possibility of reappointment itself may differ from the above description.
