About the position
This recruitment aims to strengthen research that, against the backdrop of advances in AI, machine learning, and high-performance computing, uses molecular dynamics, coarse-grained simulation, and multiscale analysis to elucidate structural formation, dynamics, and the mechanisms underlying the emergence of material properties in soft-matter materials, molecular assemblies, polymers, and interfacial materials, and to extend these insights toward AI- and HPC-enabled materials design. Through this appointment, we seek to advance simulation science centered on AI for Science and promote collaboration with the fields of materials, biomedical, and energy and the environment.
Work content and job description
Work in:
Education and research in AI and HPC based on mechanical engineering. Supervision of student research.
Subjects to be taught:
Undergraduate and graduate courses related to mechanical engineering, computational science, and thermodynamics
Work experience
Applicants must have strong expertise and research achievements in molecular dynamics and coarse-grained simulation and be capable of elucidating structural formation, dynamics, and the mechanisms underlying the emergence of material properties from the atomic/molecular scale to the mesoscale, with a focus on soft-matter materials, molecular assemblies, polymers, and interfacial materials. Applicants must also be strongly motivated to integrate AI/machine learning, high-performance computing, and data-driven modeling for materials prediction, optimization, and design, and be able to take a proactive role in related education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and international research activities.
