About the position
Description
IE University invites applications for a senior appointment in Law beginning September 2027.
IE Law School is investing strategically in the growth and development of its research faculty, with the ambition of becoming a leading European hub for legal scholarship.
We seek an internationally recognized scholar with a sustained record of publications in leading journals and a clear trajectory of high-impact research in law.
Consistent with the school’s global orientation, we are interested in scholarship that speaks to audiences across jurisdictions and contributes to broader debates about law, institutions, societal challenges, and public policy. We welcome methodological diversity, including comparative, transnational, empirical, socio-legal, economic, political economy and other interdisciplinary approaches, alongside doctrinal and theoretical work.
In evaluating candidates, particular attention will be given to the scholarly impact and visibility of their research, including the quality and consistency of publications in leading journals, citation impact, engagement with the academic community through editorial and other academic leadership roles, success in attracting competitive international research funding, experience in doctoral supervision, and evidence of active research momentum. Consideration will also be given to evidence of research impact beyond academia, including engagement with courts, public authorities, international institutions, the legal profession and public policy.
English is the working language and the main language of instruction. Most courses are taught from a transnational or comparative perspective. Knowledge of Spanish or Spanish law is therefore not required.
