About the position
Description of the workplace The Pancgnosis Laboratory (https://www.pancgnosislab.com/) investigates the fundamental mechanisms governing pancreas development, regeneration and repair, with the long-term goal of translating these discoveries into new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for diabetes, metabolic disorders and exocrine pancreatic diseases. We combine human tissue resources, stem cell and organoid models, advanced microscopy, and computational approaches to address these questions. The laboratory is located at the Department of Laboratory Medicine, Biomedical Centre (BMC) in Lund and is part of a vibrant interdisciplinary research environment within the Faculty of Medicine. We are currently seeking an adventurous project assistant to join the laboratory during its establishment phase and contribute to the development and benchmarking of stem cell and organoid platforms focused on exocrine pancreas biology and disease. In addition to supporting scientific projects, you will work closely with the group leader to establish laboratory workflows, develop operational routines, and contribute to the day-to-day organisation of the laboratory. Specifically: You will: Perform mammalian cell culture and support the maintenance of human pancreatic organoid and stem cell-based systems. Assist with experimental work in ongoing research projects, including sample processing, data collection and documentation. Contribute to the establishment, optimisation and routine operation of laboratory protocols. Support the organisation and maintenance of laboratory resources, including inventories, reagents and equipment. Qualifications Requirements: You have a Master's degree in biomedicine, biotechnology, molecular biology, cell biology, or a related life science discipline. You have practical molecular biology laboratory experience gained through degree projects, internships, research projects, or equivalent training. You have experience with basic cell culture techniques and standard laboratory procedures. You are organised, able to work collaboratively within a team, and have excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken Merits: Stem cell culture maintenance experience Good scientific writing skills Further information This is a special fixed-term position of 6 months, 100% of full time, with expected starting date 1 November 2026, or according to agreement.
