Lund University Lund, Sweden

About the position

The International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE) is an international and interdisciplinary centre of excellence at Lund University. We advance knowledge on how to catalyse the transition to low-carbon and resource efficient economies across different levels of governance and management. We conduct research across the themes of international and national policy intervention, urban governance and experimentation, business management and practice, and consumption governance. We offer Master’s education on the topic of Environmental Management and Policy.

Work duties

You will work in two externally funded research projects led by Professor Aleh Cherp: Mistra Electrification Phase 2, funded by Mistra, and NEW STEPS, funded by the Swedish Energy Agency. Both projects study the feasibility of the energy transition: how fast low-carbon technologies can grow, and how policy effort to support them changes over time, in Sweden and elsewhere. You will collect and analyse data on technology deployment and energy policy, co-author peer-reviewed articles, and contribute to policy briefs. The work involves collaboration with researchers at Chalmers University of Technology and other partners in the two projects, and occasional travel within Sweden and Europe.
Description of the work duties:
research within the two projects, independently and together with others;
writing scientific articles and policy briefs;
contributing to organising project meetings, workshops and conferences, and presenting results at them;
communicating results to policymakers, businesses and the public, including through digital media;
collaboration with project partners in academia, industry and public agencies;
a limited amount of teaching at Master's level;
administration related to the work duties listed above.
