About the position
We are seeking a specially appointed researcher to advance theoretical studies of novel physical phenomena based on multipolar degrees of freedom. The successful candidate will work closely with a newly appointed professor to develop new research directions. The project aims to theoretically elucidate novel cross-correlated responses and nonreciprocal and nonlinear transport phenomena in quantum materials from the perspectives of electronic structure, symmetry, and quantum geometry, thereby exploring new physical phenomena.
Work content and job description
The successful candidate will conduct theoretical research in condensed matter physics aimed at exploring novel physical phenomena based on multipolar degrees of freedom, as well as nonreciprocal and nonlinear transport phenomena. In particular, the candidate is expected to theoretically investigate novel cross-correlated responses and transport phenomena in quantum materials from the perspectives of electronic structure, symmetry, quantum geometry, and related concepts. The candidate will also conduct related theoretical research in close collaboration with a newly appointed professor in the Division of Frontier Materials Science.
Work experience
(1) Excellent research achievements in the field of material science (theory)
(2) Business level or above Japanese and English language proficiency
(3) A strong motivation to explore novel quantum materials and material functionalities from a theoretical perspective, beyond the boundaries of established research fields
(4) Ability and willingness to actively collaborate with researchers both within and outside the research group and to promote collaborative research
