About the position
Lecturer - Sustainable and Impact Finance - Haas School of Business The Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley is generating an applicant pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach courses in the Sustainable and Impact Finance initiative (especially for the Sustainable Investment Fund and the Climate Solutions Finance course but also other courses covering material in climate and impact financial intermediation or entrepreneurial finance, public-private partnerships, and climate finance solutions), should an opening arise. The pool will remain in place for one year. General Duties: In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include: • Holding office hours • Assigning grades • Advising students • Preparing course materials. Applicants are considered for positions as needs arise; the existence of this pool does not guarantee that a position is available. UC lecturers are academic appointees and are represented by an exclusive bargaining agent, University Council – American Federation of Teachers (UC-AFT). This position is represented by the bargaining unit. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application) The minimum qualification to be an applicant is a Bachelor Degree or equivalent international degree at time of application. Additional qualifications (required at time of start) A minimum of four years in the professional practice in relevant field to the course being taught. Preferred qualifications A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the professional practice of sustainable finance, ESG investing, early stage venture capital, climate or energy transition investment, or impact investing strategy. Higher education teaching experience and advanced degree by start date are preferred.
