About the position
Background of the recruitment and description of the project National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), one of the largest public research organizations in Japan, focuses on the creation and practical realization of technologies useful to Japanese industry and society. Leveraging the diversity and comprehensive capabilities of its 8 research fields, approximately 2,300 researchers across 12 research bases are conducting research and development from a central and pioneering position within the national innovation ecosystem, in response to changes in the innovation landscape and in accordance with national strategies formulated in light of these changes. Research Scientist Position with AIST (Tenured) is normally offered to a candidate with significant research achievements and management experience. We also welcome those who do not have a doctoral degree but who are motivated to utilize their practical experience at a company for the social implementation of AIST's R&D. Common to all Job Types Annual Salary : 6 million yen ~ Education and Degree Requirements Ph.D. / Doctor / Master / Bachelor Description Ph.D. degree (Ph.D. candidates expected to earn a degree by the start date included) or equivalent skills and experience. We also welcome those who do not have a doctoral degree but who are motivated to utilize their practical experience at a company for the social implementation of AIST's R&D. Foreign nationals are required to obtain a work permit status acceptable at AIST.
