Recruitment for Professor ( Faculty of Design and Architecture, Field of Architectural Structure ) : Kyoto Institute of Technology

About the position

The increasing frequency of major natural disasters has heightened the need to protect buildings and human lives. At the same time, a shortage of skilled workers threatens the transmission of traditional architectural techniques. Preserving our architectural heritage for future generations requires both advances in seismic resilience and new approaches to passing on traditional knowledge.
Digital technology offers exciting new possibilities for preserving historic buildings and cultural properties. We are looking for researchers who can combine expertise in engineering and digital technology with an appreciation of cultural heritage, developing innovative solutions that connect tradition with the future.
As an engineering university in the historic city of Kyoto, we offer a unique environment in which to pursue this work. By bringing together traditional knowledge and cutting-edge technology, we aim to advance research, nurture the next generation of talent, and contribute to a more sustainable society.
